How to Protect Yourself from a Cyber Attack: Part 1

Did you know that 1 in 5 small businesses will suffer a breach this year?  You can protect yourself from a cyber attack by following some proven steps.

Security Assessment

Step 1: Schedule a Security Assessment

It’s important to establish a baseline and close existing vulnerabilities using a team that is qualified to offer unbiased recommendations.  If it’s been a while since your last assessment, this needs to be “Goal #1” for 2020.

Regular Updates

Step 2: Perform Regular Updates

This may seem obvious, but cybercriminals are working constantly to break into vulnerable networks, so it’s important to keep Microsoft, Adobe, and Java products updated on all of your devices.  You can do this yourself, or work with a qualified managed service partner who will go the extra mile by testing and approving the updates and patches.

Multi Factor Authentication

Step 3: Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

MFA adds an additional layer of protection on your on-prem network and your cloud infrastructure to ensure that even if your password is stolen, your data is still protected.  At P2 Automation we use DUO on all of our servers, our firewalls, and all mission-critical cloud services.

What now?

At P2 Automation, we develop business software for small businesses.  We’re not security experts and don’t pretend to be.  But we’re offering you an opportunity to work with the same partners that protect our computer systems, including our P2xRM Cloud.
