Lead Qualifier
Qualify leads your way—not Microsoft’s way.
Microsoft’s standard Lead Qualification works… if you qualify leads exactly the way Microsoft thinks you should. If you use Projects instead of Opportunities, track custom qualification criteria, or work on a Power Apps license that doesn’t include the standard tool, you’re out of luck. Our Lead Qualifier fixes that—giving you a fully customizable qualification process that matches how you actually work.
The Problem With Microsoft’s Standard Tool
Great for Some. Limiting for Others
Microsoft’s Lead Qualification tool does one thing: convert a Lead into an Account, Contact, and Opportunity.
That’s perfect if you sell the way Microsoft thinks you should. But what if the thing you sell isn’t an “Opportunity”?
- Law firms track Legal Cases
- Event planners track Events
- Wealth managers track Portfolios or Financial Plans
- Landscapers track Jobs
- Consulting firms track Projects
- Service providers track Service Agreements
Microsoft’s tool can’t create these records. It only creates Opportunities. Our Lead Qualifier creates whatever record represents “the thing you sell.”
And even if you DO use Opportunities, Microsoft’s tool falls short if:
- You’re on a lower-cost Power Apps license that doesn’t include the standard tool
- You need to capture custom information during qualification (Source Code, Campaign, Territory, etc.)
- Your qualification process varies depending on lead type
Microsoft’s tool is built for one specific workflow. If that’s not your workflow, you’re stuck with manual workarounds.
What Our Lead Qualifier Actually Does
Built to Match Your Process
Our Lead Qualifier maintains the core function—convert a Lead into the records your business needs—but makes it fully customizable to your specific requirements.
Whether you track Legal Cases, Events, Jobs, Projects, or any other record type that represents “the thing you sell,” we configure Lead Qualifier to create exactly what you need.
Here’s what that looks like in practice:
For businesses that track something other than Opportunities We use Projects at P2 Automation. Law firms track Legal Cases. Event planners track Events. When a lead qualifies, our Lead Qualifier creates the right record type for your business—not Microsoft’s default Opportunity.
For businesses with custom qualification requirements One client doesn’t use Opportunities OR Projects. But they require a Source Code to be assigned to every qualified lead. We built their Lead Qualifier to prompt for Source Code during qualification and stamp it on the resulting Account and Contact records.
For teams on Power Apps licenses Microsoft’s standard Lead Qualification isn’t available on lower-cost Power Apps licenses. Our Lead Qualifier works on any license—giving Power Apps teams the same qualification capability without upgrading their entire licensing structure.
For businesses with variable qualification workflows Some leads qualify to Account + Contact only. Others create Opportunities. Others create Projects. Our Lead Qualifier can handle multiple qualification paths based on lead type, industry, or any other criteria you define.
The core function stays the same: take a Lead and convert it into the records your business needs—whether that’s a Legal Case, an Event, a Job, a Project, or any other entity that represents what you sell. Instead of forcing you into Microsoft’s one-size-fits-all approach, we build it to match your actual process.
How It’s Customized for You
Your Process. Your Fields. Your Workflow.
When we build your Lead Qualifier, we design it around your specific requirements:
- What gets created? Account + Contact + Opportunity? Account + Contact + Legal Case? Account + Contact + Project? Account + Contact + Event? We configure it to create exactly what represents “the thing you sell” in your business.
- What information transfers? Which fields from the Lead record should populate the Account, Contact, Opportunity, or Project? We map the data flow based on your business logic.
- What questions get asked? Do you need to capture additional information during qualification (Source Code, Campaign, Territory, etc.)? We build prompts into the qualification workflow.
- Who can qualify? Should only certain users or teams be able to qualify leads? We set the appropriate permissions.
- What happens after qualification? Should the new Opportunity/Project/Case/Event be assigned to someone? Should a workflow trigger? We configure the post-qualification automation.
This isn’t a generic tool with configuration options. It’s purpose-built for how you work.

Here are two examples of Lead Qualifier implementations for different business requirements:
Some businesses don’t use the Opportunity entity—they track Projects, Legal Cases, Events, Jobs, or other custom entities. This walkthrough shows how Lead Qualifier creates the right record type for your business instead of Microsoft’s default Opportunity.
This example shows a Lead Qualifier configured to capture custom information (like Source Code or Campaign) during the qualification process and stamp it on the resulting records.
Who This Is For
Is Lead Qualifier Right for You?
You’re a great fit if:
- You track Legal Cases, Events, Jobs, Projects, or other entities instead of (or in addition to) Opportunities
- You’re on a Power Apps license that doesn’t include Microsoft’s standard Lead Qualification tool
- You need to capture additional information during lead qualification (Source Code, Campaign, Territory, etc.)
- Your qualification workflow varies by lead type or source
- You’re tired of manual workarounds for a process that should be automated
You might not need this if:
- Microsoft’s standard tool works perfectly for your process
- You have a Dynamics 365 license that includes standard Lead Qualification AND you use Opportunities exactly as Microsoft designed
